I will start out by saying that this model impressed me right from the start. The 40 inch screen and the 16:9 aspect ratio plus the extremely thin profile seem to make this model the ideal size for the feature package that comes with it. The 4095D has a depth of only 3.3 inches. It is ultra thin and since it is VESA compatible can be wall mounted with ease. It is capable of 1080p resolution and has an Optimized Game Mode feature that enhances the picture for video games, and is also PC compatible. It can double as a large screen computer monitor. The extremely rapid response time of 8ms also contributes to the game playing advantages of these unit.
Despite the fact that game play is excellent on the 4095D, it is foremost a television set. The progressive scan with the 1080p uses over 2 million pixels in reproducing HD signals in mind boggling clarity. The contrast ratio is 6000:1 and it has a 10 bit processor that can produce 12.8 billion color combinations. Like all LCD TVs, the viewing angle is excellent at 178 degrees. It has side A/V connection ports which are handy if you are going to suspend the unit from the wall. It weighs only 54 pounds.
The A/V array is fairly complete, although it does lack the HDMI interface which cuts down on the number of wires needed when connecting to other Home Theater components. That is really the only downside to the Samsung LCD line in general, and this one in particular.
