Samsung certainly has a wide selection of LCD televisions in their line up. This model is one of the stars of that line up. It has a 46 inch screen and the typical slim profile and light weight that make the LCD such a popular choice for HDTV fans. The depth is only 4.2 inches and the weight only 94 pounds. The VESA compatibility allows wall mounting although a swivel stand is included. Just about every feature that can be found in the Samsung line is packed into this unit. It handles 1080p progressive scan resolution with over 2 million pixels. The contrast ratio is 6,000:1 and there is a 10 bit processor capable of 12.8 billion colors. This combination is capable of reproducing a HD picture that is more real life than even real life.
There is a full array of A/V connections, but the important ones are two HDMI interface ports. This allows a one wire connection to your Home Theater components and reduces the normal wire clutter. There are two 10 watt surround sound speaker concealed in the bottom of the cabinet. The Optimized Game Mode feature and the 8ms response time make this an excellent choice for the video game addict. The unit is PC compatible with a RGB input.
In addition to the clarity of the picture, one of the factors that make the LCD so popular is how it is so easy to place in your home. The light weight and the 178 degree viewing angle contribute to this ease of location. Ultimately, screen size seems to be a major decision factor, but if 46 inches is what suits you, this model should get a serious look.
